Students continued their journey of exploring the different sense organs under their current unit. Provocation to the second sense of ‘Hearing’ was done through an activity – ‘Mystery Noises’ wherein students were made to hear sounds with their eyes closed and they had to identify the source of the sound. Students were paired up to find out about one of the three parts of a human ear - outer ear, middle ear and inner ear and their functions. They were also shown a video to enhance their understanding of the same. Students enjoyed an experiment on how sound travels through the ear and how the resulting vibrations help us to hear. They wrote their understanding of the experiment using the concept of ‘procedural writing’. Students brainstormed on how our ears help us connect to the world around us, followed by a class discussion.
As a provocation for the third sense – ‘Touch’, students did a ‘mystery bag’ activity wherein they identified the object based on its texture and used their sense of touch. During class discussions students gained knowledge of how our skin helps us sense- texture, temperature, pressure, pain etc. They also gained knowledge about the three layers of the skin and illustrated a labelled diagram of the same in their process journals. They discussed how the sense of touch helps us connect to the world and watched a ‘Jiminy Cricket’ video to further understand the same. Using the ‘Pyramids strategy’, students came up with things that can harm the skin and the things we must do in order to take care of them. Students also attempted a Formative Assessment on the sense of touch through the ‘snowball strategy’.
In ICT, students created their brochures using the iPad app-'keynote' to present the information on the topic- senses. Students gained knowledge of the vocabulary related to sense organs in Spanish. In their Music class, students learnt about the effect of headphones on ears. In their Dance class, students did activities which highlighted the importance of sense organs in various dance movements. Students closed their eyes and moved around the room without touching each other so that their other senses came into play. They were also introduced to a dance based on sense organs.

In their English classes, students enhanced their comprehension skills through an activity wherein they were given a list of jumbled steps in their groups (to carve a pumpkin/to make popcorn) and were asked to cut and paste the strips on a sheet in correct sequence. They used their creative writing skills to write a paragraph about a given picture. They used the ‘4 step method ’of writing a paragraph for the picture composition. The students were introduced to pronouns by listening to a short story and clapping their hands wherever they heard a pronoun. They also learnt about homophones like their, there and they’re. Students practiced all the grammar concepts through an online quiz and tasks sheets.
In Math, the students continued practicing word problems. They were paired and each one of them created a word problem for their peer to solve using RUCSAC/CUBES strategy. Tuning into the concept of ‘Symmetry’ was done through origami work, students created different symmetrical shapes out of recycled paper given to them. Afterwards students observed symmetrical shapes in the environment. The concept was further strengthened through an educational video.
In their Hindi classes, students wrote new words from the poem 'mirch ka mazaa' and made sentences using them. They did visual summarization of the poem and identified 'sarvanaam shabd' (pronoun) from the sentences.Students enjoyed the poem 'sardee aaee' and wrote 'vilom shabd' (antonyms) & 'milte-julte shabd' (rhyming words) from the poem.
In their Hindi ab initio classes, the students were introduced to the concept of ‘milte julte shabd’ and using these words they created couplets and poems with their peers. They practiced a poem on days of the week through loud recitation and practice of word meaning was done. Students learnt about ‘aa’ maatraa and spoke and wrote vocabulary using the same.
Students practiced the sounds of French letters alphabets by spelling their names and surnames.
Students were given a task sheet to colour a rainbow which helped them to memorise names of the colours in Spanish.
In their Art classes students learnt the technique of shading with poster colours by mixing two colours for painting an object.
Students continued with their practice of football and played intra class matches during their P.E. classes.
